Comprehensive support center established
for opening of the 22nd National Assembly
- One-stop support will be provided for tasks such as member registration, access card issuance, and

The National Assembly of the Republic of Korea (Speaker Kim Jin-pyo) has established a full-service support center for the opening of the 22nd National Assembly on April 8, two days before the April 10 general election, kicking off full-fledged preparations for the new Assembly.
The National Assembly Secretariat and the other legislative support bodies have been preparing since March for the opening of the 22nd Assembly by forming a committee chaired by Deputy Secretary-General for Administrative Affairs Park Jang-ho.
The support center will handle tasks needed for the Assembly opening from April 11, one day after the general election, until May 29, the day before the start of the term for 22nd National Assembly members. It will provide one-stop support for tasks such as member registration under Article 2 (2) of the National Assembly Act, issuance of National Assembly access cards, appointment of members’ aides and staff, and guidance on legislative support organizations.
In accordance with the newly added Article 32-2 of the National Assembly Act (May 18, 2021), National Assembly members will also be provided support for reporting their private interests, including details of private-sector businesses or profit-making activities managed and operated by them during the three years prior to being elected a member. To this end, the support center will operate a separate office for this purpose and distribute brochures offering guidance on these matters.
The badges that will be worn by elected members following the general election were unveiled during the inauguration ceremony. The badges, made of 99% silver with traces of industrial gold plating, will be distributed in the order in which members are registered.

● One badge will be provided free to each newly registered National Assembly member. If a badge is lost or
if additional badges are desired, members may purchase them for KRW 35,000 each.
● Serial numbers will be engraved on the badges and they will be distributed in the order in which National
Assembly members are registered.
National Assembly Secretary General Baek Jae-hyun reviewed ongoing preparations at the comprehensive support center and pledged “efforts to ensure efficient and substantive support for the opening of the 22nd National Assembly.”
