about the attack on an Assembly Member
National Assembly Member Bae Hyun-jin was attacked.
As the Speaker of the National Assembly,
I express my grave concerns
about the recent incidents of violence against politicians.
Political terrorism poses a significant challenge to democracy.
Violent acts are not acceptable under any circumstances.
We must swiftly end an extreme politics that shows hostility toward others.
All political factions must exercise special caution
and make efforts to revive a politics that embraces dialogue and compromise.
I urge a thorough investigation by the authorities
and wish Assembly Member Bae Hyun-jin a speedy recovery.
