‘National Assembly’s 2024 Picnic Day’ held on Assembly Grounds
- Around 32,000 people enjoyed a vibrant spring day at the National Assembly opened to the public for two days

The National Assembly Secretariat, led by Secretary General Baek Jae-hyun, held the ‘2024 National Assembly's Picnic Day’ event from March 30 to 31, during which it opened the National Assembly gates wide to the public.
During the event, picnic blankets, tents, bounce houses and other facilities were set up on the National Assembly's lawn square to encourage people to enjoy picnics, while entertaining programs such as busking performances and bubble shows were held. Despite the chilly weather, more than 32,000 people including families and couples visited the National Assembly grounds over the two-day period to spend a delightful time together.
National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo joined visitors on the lawn square for photos, making time to talk with many guests. With a long line of people wanting to take photos with the Speaker, the session extended well beyond the planned 30 minutes.
