Secretary General of the National Assembly holds tree planting event
to promote carbon neutrality
- Joins with staff to plant 30 apple and jujube tree saplings and a commemorative pine tree
- Pledges vigorous support for legislative activities to address the climate crisis
Secretary General of the Republic of Korea’s National Assembly Baek Jae-hyun planted 30 apple and jujube tree saplings and a commemorative pine tree together with staff on March 29, ahead of Arbor Day, at the Parliamentary Training Office’s Goseong Branch as part of efforts to promote carbon neutrality.
Secretary General Baek said, “The National Assembly Secretariat actively supports legislative activities such as tree plantings that address the climate crisis, demonstrating our commitment to carbon neutrality.” He pledged continuous support, as steadfast as the evergreen pine tree, for projects that benefit the public good.
Attendees at the event included Kim Sang-soo, Director General of the Planning and Coordination Office; Lim Jong soo, Director General of the Management and Maintenance Bureau; Lee Hyun-jung, Chief of the Parliamentary Training Office; and other National Assembly staff.
